Gill Crow’s dad was an on-call firefighter and she went on to work in Control herself for 24 years, so always knew about our Charity. However, she says she never expected the support on offer to both of them in retirement.

Piotr Gudan, an on-call firefighter with Scottish FRS, has received both physical and mental health support from us and says it’s a reassurance to have us there in the future, given the huge demands of his role.

Joyce Glover, an Admin Assistant with Tyne and Wear FRS, says the impact our support had on her husband Terry was life-changing after he suffered a stroke - which had impacted his mental health.

LFB firefighter Wayne Jackson has received our support in the past for both his physical and mental health, and more recently attended one of our Child and Family Weeks – which he says helped his autistic son hugely.
