Maria Smith’s husband, Rusty – who was an on-call firefighter for 31 years – passed away suddenly in May 2019. She’s now running the London Marathon in aid of us as a tribute to him and his colleagues. Helen’s life completely changed in 2019 when her firefighter partner, Paul, was left needing 24-hour care following a horrific assault. She says, thanks to your donations, she’s been able to access vital support since. Nicky Lewis’ husband Martin was a firefighter in the RAF and MOD for several years. Thanks to your generous donations, he was helped by us in the months before he sadly passed away – and Nicky has been supported ever since. Emily Smith, whose partner is a firefighter with Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, won our Jackpot of £25,000. Here she reveals why she pays in to the Lottery every month and her delight at discovering she’d won. Craig Sadler has supported the Charity for years and now, as his son joins the service and begins working in the same station as him, he too hopes to follow in his father’s footsteps.
