Firefighter Rachel Streeting, from Warwickshire FRS, received our support following a back injury which she feared could end her career on operational duty – and she says we helped her mental health, as well as physical. Paul Yates is taking on the 2023 London Marathon in memory of his partner Cathy’s brother, Andy Moore, who passed away in 2020. Paul now hopes to raise awareness of the mental health support we offer. Jeff Brereton, 102, has been a supporter of our Charity since the war – including pushing for advances in welfare support and overseeing the development of our centres. Now his grandson is following in his footsteps... On-call firefighter Ash Mooney was told he only had a 1-3% chance of walking again after a rugby injury. However, he defied the odds and says a visit to us helped him build his strength again. Mark Albutt, a firefighter with Hereford & Worcester FRS, has visited Harcombe House twice with his family for some time out to rest and recharge – and that’s all thanks to your donations over the years.
