Firefighters set up walking group in memory of retired colleague
A group of Leicestershire firefighters have set up a walking group and fundraiser in memory of their colleague Gary Chamberlain, who sadly passed away at the end of 2023.

A team of six firefighters - based in or around Loughborough - will take on 181 miles in full fire kit and BA in memory of their friend Andy Watt, who passed away on 28 July 2022. Spalding business Bakkavor kindly donated a huge £10,000 to us as a thank you to their local fire crews who supported them amid devastating floods last year. A close-knit group of bikers have supported our Brew With A Crew challenge to promote the importance of talking about mental health, having been there for each other through thick and thin. Refusing to let being rained off dampen their fundraising efforts for The Fire Fighters Charity and The Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation, five members of Leicester Central's white watch completed a half marathon at City's football stadium last weekend.
